Run for children

RUN FOR CHILDREN it is the new manifestation that unites sport and beneficence to sustain the Città della Speranza Foundation in Padua. Last year the edition of Swim for Children has achieved an enormous success.

This year, for the new edition it has been chosen the run to involve an elevated number of people.

Run for Children 2011 will consist, in fact, in a relay race, that is going to take place in Padua on the 17th and 18th June 2011. Organized according to the lines guide of International association of the Athletics Federations (IAAF) and supported by the Italian FIDAL (Italian Federation of Light Athletics), Run For Children 2011 will have as scenery “Prato della Valle”. For the occasion, the famous green lung of the City will be equipped with a ring of around 200 meters that will allow the athletes to hand on the baton for 24 consecutive hours: From Friday 17th June at 20 pm to Saturday 18th June at 20 pm.

Each of them must run 100 meters, in the time to beat the previous “Guinness record”: that of the 3807 people that on the 19th October 2008  have uninterruptedly raced to relay race 100 meters to head for 24 hours to the “Daugava Stadium” of Line (Latvia). And also this time the whole amount of money will be donated to realize the scientific and sanitary projects of the Institute of Pediatric Research “Città della Speranza”. That is the last goal that must persuade us to contribute to write a new page of the everlasting story of “Involvement & Solidarity”: to reread then with the satisfaction of whom has done to build a best future.
